Introduction to the PADI Divemaster Course

Want to become a PADI diving professional and start your scuba diving career? Welcome to the HeartSea family! At HeartSea, you’ll get hands-on experience that will enhance your future in the diving industry.

This course will require you to apply your existing diving skills and real-world experience to safely organize and supervise diving activities. You will participate in role-playing scenarios with fellow students and your instructor, practicing how to teach the 24 essential diving skills and perform surface rescues.

The PADI Divemaster course at HeartSea will prepare you for diving in Taiwan and equip you with the skills to pursue international diving opportunities. By the end of the course, you’ll be a highly respected diver, admired by all.

Accommodation Discounts for Course Participants Only
Backpacker Room: 5 nights for just NT$1,250 (motorcycle or car transportation required).
4-Person Budget Room: Discounted rates per room/night:
1 person: NT$1,000
2 people: NT$1,500
3-4 people: NT$2,000 (limited to 3 rooms)
Double Room Booking: Special Partner Rate of NT$1,200 per night at Tree House B&B (just a 1-minute walk away).
4-Person Room Booking: Special Partner Rate of NT$1,500 per night at Tree House B&B (just a 1-minute walk away).
Note: Both double and 4-person rooms feature queen-sized beds.


Course Prerequisites
1)Minimum Age: 18 years old.
2)Certification Requirement: Valid PADI Rescue Diver certification.
3)Training Requirement: EFR Primary and Secondary Care certification within the last 24 months.
4)Medical Clearance: A doctor’s evaluation confirming your fitness to dive, completed within the last 12 months.
5)Dive Log: Minimum of 40 logged scuba dives.


Course Content and Schedule
Duration: 5 days and 4 nights.
Online Theory: Complete the theory exam before the course starts (e-materials will be sent to each participant upon confirmation).
Theory: Roles and characteristics of a PADI Divemaster, supervising certified divers and assisting with courses, and courses conducted by Divemasters.
Confined Water Training: Practice in-water skills, diver rescues, and confined water skills (24 essential skills).
Open Water Training: Leading recreational dives, Discover Scuba Diving sessions, snorkeling, conducting briefings, assessing wave conditions, understanding risk management, and planning safe dives.


Post-Course Internship (5-6 days, depending on personal schedule)
Recreational Diving: Independently lead a recreational dive.
Open Water Diver Course: Assist in completing one Open Water Diver course.
Advanced Open Water Diver Course: Assist in completing one Advanced Open Water Diver course.

Upon successful completion and with 60 logged dives, our instructors will apply for your international certification.


The fee includes:

PADI Divemaster eLearning materials.
Air tank fees.
Transportation to dive sites during ocean training.
Diving insurance coverage during the course.
Complimentary meals (meat and vegetarian options; no vegan meals available, but kitchen facilities may be provided for vegan participants during downtime).
