Undeterred by Wind and Rain, Enthusiasm Undiminished!
Although Kenting greeted us with damp and cold weather this morning (April 13th), the first "Share Love!" Public Beach Cleanup event organized by Heart Ocean Dive Center was still held steadfastly and concluded successfully on the right side of the Kenting Outlet! This achievement is credited to every volunteer partner who braved the wind and rain with passionate dedication!

We hereby extend special thanks to the key figures of the event - Coach Octopus of Heart Ocean Dive Center, and the professional leadership of coaches 泳兒, 小傑, 小憲, Coach jush, as well as the hard work of our partners 郭爸, 乙太, 其其, 佳思, 裕仁. Because of you all, the event proceeded smoothly. At the same time, we thank every friend who supported us, both online and offline!
Because of your selfless dedication and hard work, even amidst the cool wind and rain, we still collectively brought significant change to this beautiful coastline. Your sweat nurtured the love for the ocean; your actions ignited the hope for sustainability.
Fruitful Results, Numbers Speak Volumes
Today's action not only united hearts but also achieved substantial environmental cleanup results:
- Participants: A total of 23 volunteers + 5 coaches + 10 staff members responded enthusiastically!
- Total Volunteer Hours: Accumulated contribution of 140 hours.
- Total Marine Debris: We collectively removed a total weight of 10 kg and 1 bag of marine waste!
Analysis of Main Marine Debris Types:
After initial sorting, the waste cleared in this beach cleanup mainly includes:
- Plastics (approx. 20%): PET bottles, plastic fragments, plastic bags, etc.
- Fishing Gear Waste: 1 bag.
- General Waste (approx. 60%): Cigarette butts, straws, takeout containers, etc.
- Others (approx. 20%): Glass bottles, discarded shoes, large construction debris, etc.
These numbers not only represent the amount of trash removed but also remind us of the importance of source reduction and changing lifestyle habits. Every piece of waste tells a story that needs to be acknowledged.
From End-point Cleaning to Source Reduction
This beach cleanup marks the starting point for Heart Ocean Dive Center's commitment to marine sustainability actions. We witnessed the power of unity and deeply realized that protecting the environment is urgent. In the future, Heart Ocean will continue to organize related environmental actions and educational outreach programs, looking forward to collaborating with more partners.
Let's transform today's inspiration into continuous action, starting with ourselves, reducing single-use plastic consumption, supporting sustainable concepts, and jointly leaving a cleaner, healthier blue ocean for the next generation!
